Pork and Ginger Dumplings

If you didn’t already know I am half Chinese, so you bet I love a good dumpling or ya know... 20. Here is my recipe for super simple Pork and Ginger Dumplings. These are so yum, and the dipping sauce makes them all the more delicious. Super simple ingredients, and they only take 8 minutes to cook!

Ingredients

500g pork mince

2 tsp minced garlic

2.5 tbsp fresh grated ginger

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tsp rice wine vinegar

2 spring onions, very finely diced

1/2 tsp white pepper

2 tsp sesame oil

1 tbsp sweet chilli

1 packet of pre-made dumpling wrappers (you can find these in the fridge section at the supermarket)

Dipping sauce:

1.5 tbsp soy sauce

1 tsp rice wine vinegar

1/2 tsp sesame oil

3 tbsp sweet chilli 1 tsp honey

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients for the dumplings and well to combine.

  2. Take your dumpling wrappers out of the packet and place between some paper towel so they don’t dry out.

  3. Take a teaspoon of the mixture onto a dumpling wrapper, fold in half then pleat one side of the wrapper and press firmly together to seal. Dip your index finger in some water and go over the pleat to secure. Keep going until you run out of wrappers. You may have some mince left over, these are great for turning into meatballs and chucking in a stir fry!

  4. To cook your dumplings, place them in a steamer on the stovetop over boiling water and cook for 8 minutes.

  5. While they’re cooking, combine all the ingredients in a small dish and stir well to combine.

  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!
